Sorry that we notice that after the product updates, there are some unexpected incompatibility issues happening among different versions. This FAQ will show you how to deal with this issue so that you can continue using Octoparse smoothly.

If you encounter such a problem (The Dashboard cannot load all the tasks you have) after you update to the latest version, then please follow the steps stated below.

※This issue happens to Windows users only.

Solution 1: Clear your local cache

Please note that this method will also clear your local extracted data. If you want to keep the local extracted data before, please go to Solution 2.

  • Step 1: Turn off Octoparse, and then go to the following folder on your computer. (Example path: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local)

  • Step 2: Delete the folders of "OctopusSoft" and "OctopusSoftV8".

  • Step 3: Open Octoparse again to check if the Dashboard issue is resolved.


Solution 2: Download the old version to reinstall

Please note that you don't need to delete your current version.

  • Step 1: Please download the old version and install it.

  • Step 2: After installation, please open Octoparse. It will update the format of local extracted data to be compatible with the new version automatically. After that, the Dashboard can be opened properly.

  • Step 3: If you need to update to the latest version after you have installed the old version, you can go to "About Us" to "Check for Updates".
