Let’s explore the new exciting features together and see how the 8.6.8 update can benefit you.

Auto-exports to Google Sheets no longer require Octoparse to stay open

With the 8.6.8 update, enjoy the freedom to automate exports to Google Sheets without needing Octoparse to remain active, boosting flexibility and efficiency in managing your data.

Share custom tasks via links

This new feature will allow you to collaborate effortlessly with your team members by sharing custom tasks via generated links. To access this feature, simply go to the Task List and click on the "More" button on the right.

Convert relative time into absolute date formats

The new version of Octoparse makes it super easy for you to convert relative time (E.g. 1 month ago) into absolute date formats.

To take advantage of this feature, simply refer to the following steps:

  • Click on 'More' in the Data Preview section

  • Clean data

  • Add Step

  • Reformat extracted date/time

Use proxy IPs when configuring tasks

With this new feature in place, you can conveniently access websites that are restricted to specific countries in Octoparse. The feature can be easily found on the upper bar when you are setting up a task.

Solve reCAPTCHA v3

Apart from reCAPTCHA V2, hCatpcha and image CAPTCHA, Octoparse now supports resolving reCAPTCHA v3 automatically. This type of CAPTCHA used to be a hindrance for data scraping, now Octoparse overcomes this challenge seamlessly with the newly integrated solving capability.

Set up auto-exports in bulk

If you're looking to have your scraped data exported automatically, setting up auto-export would be a great option. However, if you happen to have multiple tasks, you may want to try out this new feature, which allows you to set up auto-exports for all of them at once. It's a convenient and time-saving solution!

Change support language preferences in Settings

Octoparse currently offers customer support in seven languages: English, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Korean and Italian. You can now easily switch to your preferred language in Settings. This will provide you with a customized experience that caters to your language preferences.

Task settings for template tasks

Previously, task settings were limited to custom tasks. However, we have now implemented this feature for template tasks as well. This will simplify the process of setting up automation and notifications for you. Once you start running a certain template, you will have access to this feature.

Alternatively, you can find it by navigating to the task list, finding the specific template task, and clicking on the 'more' button as shown in the screenshot provided.

Forward/back page navigation shortcut in Browse Mode

Octoparse's built-in browser is a bit different from the traditional ones. In the past, if you happened to click on the wrong page while browsing, you would have to start all over again. But in our latest version, we've added a convenient forward/back page navigation shortcut in Browse Mode to make your web browsing experience even smoother. This shortcut will only appear when you're in Browse Mode, so you can easily navigate through web pages with ease.

Set up auto logins with cookies

By setting up auto logins with cookies, you will gain seamless access to restricted content and improve data retrieval efficiency.

To set this up, click on Auto Login on the upper bar, enter the login information as required, and click on Set up Auto Login.

Note: Some websites may not allow you to log in using cookies. In this case, simply set up login steps in your workflow and you'll be good to go. Check out this helpful tutorial on how to set up login steps.

Added an option to maximize the browser automatically for local task runs

If the Octoparse browser is not maximized after you initiate your tasks, certain websites may not load all of their content. This could cause the scraper to miss collecting data. If you want the Octoparse browser to maximize automatically to avoid task failure or missing data, simply go to Settings and tick the relevant option.

Additionally, this update addresses various minor bugs from the previous version, ensuring a smoother and more reliable user experience.
