Question:
I entered the URL but the web page didn't open normally in Octoparse. Is there a setting I do not have or should change to get this to work?
Answer:
This is because the default built-in browser is incompatible with the web page, which prevented the page from being loaded normally in Octoparse.
Octoparse Advanced Mode supports for switching browsers (UA). Please start your task with Advanced Mode (see more about this mode here).
Go to Settings and switch the default built-in browser to a compatible one (please have the task saved before modifying the settings), as the image below shows. Click Save and Octoparse would load the web page with the selected browser. Usually, FireFox 45 will work for most of the web pages and you can switch to that first.
However, if all of the browsers do not work, we are sorry to say the web page might be incompatible with Octoparse. We are working hard to update our built-in browser to resolve this kind of issue and will fix it in our next version. Stay tuned for the brand new Octoparse!
