I need to sort the results back from Google based on date. Is this possible?

Hi John,
Thank you for reaching out.
Would you please share a bit more about your data project? And just to let you know, Octoparse can scrape data from Google search, you can check out this tutorial to learn more: Scrape Data Via Google Searching
If you want to define one or more conditions for whether the data should be extracted, like here, based on date, you can try the feature "Trigger" in Octoparse, please click here to check it out.
Best regards,

Hi John,
By " Google Search aspect of your tool", are you referring to the task template in Octoparse? If so, sorry to tell you that the task template can't be revised, but you can try to build the task by referring to this tutorial: Scrape Data Via Google Searching
If there's an option to set the items on the webpage displayed from the newest posted to the oldest, you can set the order first, then use the local extraction to scrape it, the outcome would be the same order.
Or you can try the feature "Trigger" or branch judgment in Octoparse, please check the links down below:
Condition-based scraping using branch judgement
