Custom Alerts (v8.7.4 and above)

With the release of version 8.7.4, Octoparse introduced Custom Alerts, a feature that allows you to monitor:

  • add-on credit balance

  • Task status

You'll receive notifications when specified metrics are met.

Note: A Standard Plan subscription or above is required to access this feature.

Type of alerts

Low Credit Alert

Cloud Monitoring Alerts

Professional Plan or above

Task Scheduling Alerts

Standard Plan or above


Low Credit Alert

Receive notifications when your add-on credit balance falls below a specified threshold.

Steps to set up

  • Enter a valid number

  • Select a preferred notification method

Switch the Alert Status to ON > Click Save

Tip: You can send a test alert to check if you receive a notification. Please note that there may be a delay of 3 to 5 seconds.


Cloud Monitoring Alerts

Monitor specific metrics related to your cloud tasks and receive notifications when conditions are met.

Steps to set up

  • Click + New Alert

  • Enter an Alert name

  • Choose a Metric and a corresponding Condition

    • Example: "Number of results is greater than 500 entries"

  • Select a preferred notification method

  • Switch the Alert Status to ON > Click Save

  • Click Manage alerted tasks

  • Click Add task

  • Select a specific task > Click Add task


Task Scheduling Alerts

Set up alerts for scheduled local and cloud tasks to receive notifications if any task fails to start.

Steps to set up

  • Click +New task

  • Click Add task

  • Select a specific task and click Add task

  • Select a specific notification method

  • Switch the Alert Status to ON and click Save


    Slack Notification

    When setting up Slack Notification, only the Webhook URL is required.

    How to obtain a Webhook URL from Slack?

  • Open Slack and select a channel > Click Edit tabs

  • Click Integration > Click Add an App

  • Search for Incoming Webhooks and install the app

  • Choose a channel and click Add Incoming WebHooks integration

  • Copy the generated Webhook URL

Tips for Better Monitoring:

  • Ensure notification methods are correctly configured to avoid missing alerts.

  • Review and update metrics regularly to match your current needs.
