Who can use MCP/API free trial credits?
MCP/API free trial credits are available to Free and Basic users who run extraction templates through MCP/API.
If your subscription has expired, your account is treated as a Free account.
Users with an active paid plan are not eligible for this offer.
How many free trial credits do I get?
Eligible users receive 2,000 free records per week for MCP/API extraction.
Note:
Free trial credits reset at the end of each natural week.
Unused credits do not roll over.
The default allocation is 6 nodes.
How are records counted?
All extracted records count toward your weekly free trial quota, regardless of whether the template is normally billed by record count.
What happens when I use up the weekly quota?
When you submit an MCP/API request, the system checks whether you have reached your weekly free limit.
If you have already used up the quota, the request will be rejected. You will need to upgrade your plan or top up your balance to continue.
If you are still within the quota, the extraction can continue as normal. After the task is completed, the actual number of returned records will be added to your weekly usage.
What if I am a paid user?
This free trial offer does not apply to active paid users.
If you are on a STD, PRO, or ENT plan and you run a record-billed template through MCP/API, your request may be rejected if your account balance is insufficient. In that case, you will need to top up your balance before continuing.
How do coupon codes work?
During the campaign period, Octoparse may distribute temporary coupon codes through selected communities for MCP/Skill extraction.
Eligible users can redeem a coupon code to receive an additional 5,000 free records.
Note:
Coupon codes are available only to Free and Basic users.
Active paid users are not eligible.
If both weekly free trial credits and coupon credits are available, the weekly free trial credits are used first.
The same coupon code can be redeemed by multiple users, but each user can redeem the same code only once.
Coupon codes are valid until July 30, 2026.
Once redeemed, the granted records do not expire.
Is there any other limitation?
Yes. Free users can create up to 20 tasks, and this limit still applies when using MCP-related promotional credits.
Note:
At this stage, free trial credits are not displayed on the account page. This may be supported in future API key–related pages for developers.
