Overview of Free Trials and Free Plans
Octoparse offers a 14-day free trial for new users to experience the advanced features available in the premium plan. Additionally, a free plan is always available and can be accessed by simply signing up for an account. This guide addresses issues you may encounter when trying to start these trials or plans and offers practical solutions.
The free plan offers the ability to run scraping tasks directly on your device and export up to 10,000 data rows.
Eligibility Requirements for Free Trials
To qualify for a free trial:
You must not have used the trial previously with your account or payment card.
Make sure you haven’t already activated a free trial associated with your account details or payment method.
If your eligibility is denied, it may be due to your payment card or past usage history. Try verifying these details before reattempting.
How to sign up for the free trial
Signing up for the free trial is quick and easy. Just follow these steps:
STEP 1. Log in to your Octoparse account.
STEP 2. Select Standard Trial or Professional Trial
STEP 3. Input your payment method
STEP 4. Double-check the trial expiration date and click Start Trial
STEP 5. Your trial is then activated. You can check your plan and expiration date in the Account Center
What happens after the free trial ends?
If you opt to continue using our product, no further action is required on your part. Your account will be billed according to the plan selected during the trial period upon the expiration of the complimentary trial period.
Octoparse employs an automatic renewal system for subscriptions, meaning users will be charged at the end of a free trial unless the subscription is canceled beforehand. The platform clearly informs users to cancel before the trial period concludes to avoid a charge.
If you choose to opt-out, kindly ensure that you terminate your subscription to prevent incurring charges upon its conclusion, and your account will be downgraded to the free version. If, however, you were charged unexpectedly despite intending to cancel, consider contacting Octoparse customer support to explain the situation and explore potential resolutions.
📢📢📢 IMPORTANT 📢📢📢
Once your free trial period is over, your subscription will automatically start to ensure uninterrupted service. If you decide that Octoparse is not the right fit for you, please make sure to cancel your plan at least one day before the end of your trial to avoid any charges. It is important to carefully review the billing date and charge amount as the first month's fee after a free trial is non-refundable. (For more information on our billing terms, please visit here.) Possible resolutions if charged post-trial might include plan downgrades with partial refunds or an offer for an additional free month of service. Refunds, if approved, generally take up to 7 business days to process.
Why should I sign up for the free trial?
Our free trial allows you to fully experience our product and see if it is the right fit for you. You will have access to all of our features (cloud extraction, schedule run, API, etc.) and can test them out to see how they can benefit you or your business.
Refunds, once approved, may take up to 7 business days to reflect in your bank account. If delays occur, you are advised to contact customer support for assistance.
Additionally, signing up for the free trial does not require any commitment or payment information. You can cancel at any time during the trial period without being charged. In case you are charged unexpectedly, Octoparse may offer alternatives such as downgrades to a more affordable plan with a partial refund or an additional month of free service.
Troubleshooting Common Free Trial Issues
Unable to Start a Free Trial
Verify Card Eligibility: If your payment card has been associated with a previous trial, it may restrict you from starting a new one. To resolve this, ensure you use a card or account that hasn’t been previously associated with a trial.
Check Trial Period Status: Your account might already be in the early stages of an active trial. If the trial isn’t visible, try restarting the Octoparse application and checking again.
Re-launch the Software: Sometimes, relaunching the software can reset and activate the trial features. If you’ve already initiated a trial but cannot use it, this method often resolves the issue.
Unable to Access the Free Plan
If you can't access your free plan after applying, please ensure you are logging in with the correct account credentials. Then, try restarting Octoparse to activate it. If the issue continues, please contact our support team for assistance.
Post-Cancellation Guidelines for Trials
Even after cancelling a subscription, the trial plan may still show up on your Plan & Subscription page until the 14-day trial period ends. This doesn’t indicate ongoing charges - you can continue using the trial until its expiration without additional costs.
