News: Octoparse 8.1 Beta Released!
FollowEven though we're in tough times now because of the epidemic, we still work hard to prepare for the new product release to give our users a better data scraping experience.
Finally, a brand new Octoparse 8.1 Beta (8.1.24 for Windows & Mac) is released NOW! (JP version is also available!)
Notes:
1. Support Windows 7 and above (only supports x64 bit systems). If you're using Windows XP or x32 bit system, please download version 7.3.0.
2. For Mac user, macOS 10.10 (Yosemite) or higher version(x64) is supported. You can check the details in this guide: Download, Installation & Login(Mac)
We have made big changes to the functions and the interactive interface.
Regarding functions, there is a big improvement over the "Advanced Mode", which will improve the efficiency for users to acquire data.
Regarding the product interface, layout optimization has been made to different sections to make Octoparse more user-friendly.
Octoparse 8.1 Beta Update Highlights
1. "Auto Detect" web page elements to help new users get on board quickly
Users only need to enter a web page URL to get started, and then Octoparse will analyze the web page comprehensively to auto-detect text, images, and other elements on the web page. After auto-detect, Octoparse will generate a recommended task configuration (such as data fields, pagination, infinitive scroll down setting, etc) setting for users.
If you want to extract data on the page that follows, you just need to click the option and Octoparse will set up an extraction setting automatically to capture data on the next level page.
There will be several auto-detect results generated at the same time. You can switch the results to find the one that suits your needs. Even though you're fresh to Octoparse, you can deal with data extraction easily and get desired data with clicks.
2. Convenient task configuration experience and clear data preview display
Octoparse 8.1 has a new workflow design which is more easy-to-manipulate than before. You can quickly add a new step to the workflow. Data lines to extract are displayed at the bottom of the interface, giving you a quick preview. You can rename the data fields and drag them flexibly to change their positions. The highlight of the selected data field is more obvious.
3. More filter options to help you better manage your tasks
If you have many tasks on your account, sometimes it is difficult to find the one you want to edit. To help users better manage tasks and improve efficiency, Octoparse has added advanced search features so that you can set multiple filters to filter out tasks you want.
- Two Dashboard view modes
Quickly switch Dashboard view mode(Task Group and Recent Task) by clicking the tabs. Task Group mode organizes the tasks by groups while the Recent Task mode displays the tasks by last edited time.
You can set up actions (such as delete, set default group, set a schedule) to the whole task group on the Dashboard under Task Group mode.
"Recent Task" module is also added to the left navigation menu to help you find the recent edit tasks faster.
Even though the navigation menu is collapsed, you can still cut in quickly.
- Advanced filters
Octoparse 8.1 offers three default Quick Filters that are based on the Cloud run status. You can find them on the left navigation menu.
On the top of the dashboard, you can click "More" (next to the search box) to see 7 filter types (Owner is only available to Enterprise plan).
You can add more than one condition to quickly locate the tasks. No need to go through the task list one by one.
Frequently-used filter settings can be saved to Quick Filter, so you don't need to select the filters every time.
